Here, in the run-up to the CALL Film Festival, we present the winners of the Jane Award 2026 one by one. The award ceremony will take place as part of an evening event on Saturday, 30 May 2026 in Bad Hofgastein.
Kim Cattrall: She Gave Women the Courage to Raise Their Voices
Kim Cattrall is being honoured with the Jane Award for her lasting contribution to redefining women’s self-confidence and self-determination. In iconic roles such as Samantha Jones in „Sex and the City“ or Monica Velour in „Meet Monica Velour“, she has shaped female characters who stand for independence, strength, and a self-determined approach to life.
Not only in her roles, but also in real life, she embodies the conviction that women can shape success and life paths on their own terms – independent, self-determined, and authentic. In doing so, she has inspired social debates about equality, freedom, and personal integrity far beyond the world of film and television.
In addition to her acting achievements, she has established herself as a strong voice for the visibility and equality of women in the entertainment industry. Her career stands for a consistent artistic decision to portray female characters with depth, intelligence, and independence, and to deliberately challenge stereotypical depictions.
With the Jane Award, she is being honoured not only for her impressive artistic body of work, but also for her cultural influence as a personality who encourages women around the world to raise their voices, to live their own strength, and to confidently define their own identity.
Kim Cattrall will be coming in person to the CALL Film Festival in the Gasteinertal. She will be on-site for all four festival days and can also be experienced in a masterclass and in Q&A sessions. The festival will be showing her film „Meet Monica Velour“.
The Scorpions: Their Iconic Hits Gave Film Music a New Meaning
With the Jane Award, the CALL Film Festival honours the Scorpions as one of the most defining rock bands in music history, and recognises their influence on contemporary film music. With more than 110 million records sold, worldwide number-one successes, and a career spanning several decades, they have thrilled generations of music fans.
The Scorpions’ body of work has been closely connected with the world of film for decades. Their music has been used in numerous cinema and television productions, where it has amplified key emotional moments. Songs by the band can be heard in productions including „The Interview“, „Long Shot“, and „Stranger Things“.
At the same time, the Scorpions stand like few other artists for the unifying power of music. Their global hit „Wind of Change“ became an anthem of peace, hope, and social awakening. To this day, the song remains a worldwide symbol of freedom, understanding, and the belief that music can connect people and nations – values that lie at the heart of the CALL Film Festival as well.
As part of the CALL Film Festival, the Scorpions will also be presenting their new feature film „Wind of Change“. With the Jane Award, the festival is therefore honouring not only their extraordinary musical life’s work in connection with the medium of film, but also their cultural influence and their contribution to peace and understanding.
Klaus Meine and Rudolf Schenker of the Scorpions will be coming in person to the CALL Film Festival in the Gasteinertal to receive the award. The festival will be showing excerpts from the new film „Wind of Change“.
