From Kim Cattrall, Parov Stelar, Philipp Hochmair to Lars Amend: Stars at the CALL Film Festival in Bad Hofgastein
Four days during which you can experience numerous stars and prominent personalities up close in Bad Hofgastein. The first guests have already been confirmed:
Kim Cattrall
Kim Cattrall is one of the most renowned actresses of her generation and gained worldwide fame through her iconic roles in film and television, including as Samantha in „Sex and the City“. She stands for self-confidence, artistic independence, and strong female characters who have shaped generations.
At the CALL Film Festival, she will not only present her film „Meet Monica Velour“ but also hold a masterclass. At the grand gala on 30 May, she will be honoured with the „Jane“ award for her commitment to the role of women in our society and for her cinematic work.
Reinhold Messner & Diane Messner
Reinhold Messner is one of the most significant mountaineers, boundary-breakers, and adventurers of our time, and the first person to climb all 14 eight-thousanders on earth. With his extraordinary life journey, he stands for courage, transcending limits, and respect for nature.
At the CALL Film Festival, he will talk about adventure, responsibility, and the future of our planet. The festival presents the world’s first cinematic Reinhold Messner retrospective. Reinhold Messner can be experienced live during introductions to the individual films, in masterclasses, in a lecture, and at the festival’s opening and closing ceremony.
Diane Messner is an entrepreneur, cultural mediator, and committed visionary at the intersection of nature, society, and sustainable thinking. Together with Reinhold Messner, she accompanies international projects with cultural and ecological focus.
At the CALL Film Festival, she will contribute her perspective on responsibility, values, and shaping the future.
Parov Stelar
Parov Stelar is Austria’s internationally most successful electronic artist and is regarded as the founder of Electro Swing. With his unmistakable sound, he has been captivating audiences worldwide from Europe to America for years.
He chose the CALL Film Festival for the world premiere of his concept film „Artifact“, the cinematic adaptation of the album of the same name. He will also appear in a masterclass.
Lars Amend
Lars Amend is one of Germany’s most successful authors. His books – including several SPIEGEL number-one bestsellers – have sold a total of two million copies. The film adaptation of his bestseller „Dieses bescheuerte Herz“ starring Elyas M’Barek drew two million viewers to German cinemas and was one of the most successful theatrical releases of its year.
Together with Rudolf Schenker of the Scorpions, he co-wrote the bestseller „Rock Your Life“. His books always centre on the question of how people can lead more conscious and fulfilling lives.
At the CALL Film Festival, Lars Amend will present his film „Dieses bescheuerte Herz“ and share his perspectives on personal transformation, mental strength, and inspiration in his own masterclass.
Vera Brandes
Vera Brandes is a music producer, cultural entrepreneur, and a defining figure of the international music scene. She gained worldwide recognition through the cinematic adaptation of Keith Jarrett’s legendary Köln Concert, which she organised at the age of 18 and which Ido Fluk turned into a film. The film „Köln 75“ was met with international enthusiasm and even reached number 1 at the Japanese box office.
At the CALL Film Festival, she will present „Köln 75“ and talk in a masterclass about her research and the healing power of music.
Philipp Hochmair
Philipp Hochmair (pictured with CALL Film Festival President Oliver Hirschbiegel) is one of the most distinguished actors in the German-speaking world and shines equally on stage, screen, and television. For the past two summers, he has also been performing as „Jedermann“ at the Salzburg Festival. With his intense presence and exceptional versatility, he has made an international name for himself.
At the CALL Film Festival, he will speak in a masterclass about the art of acting, creativity, and new artistic pathways.
